Kinetica Leverages the Power of the GPU for Data Analytics
Data analytics is a hot field, and ActualTech Media CEO Scott D. Lowe interviews a company on the bleeding edge — Kinetica, a data analytics company with an interesting twist. Kinetica is all about “data in motion, and businesses in motion,” says Dipti Borkar, VP of Product Marketing at Kinetica. They provide data analytics and insights by using the power of the GPU and its capacity for massive parallelism, given the thousands of processing cores it contains. Borkar explains that this enables organizations to “build a data-powered business.” This RoadCast video introduces Kinetica and explains in more detail how this happens, including use cases.
In this companion video, Borkar hits the whiteboard and goes into an architectural overview of Kinetica and how it works. Kinetica is a software-based solution that works on-premises or in the cloud, including integration with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. Borkar notes that Kinetica is “purpose-built for GPUs.” It’s a fascinating video and worth your time to check out.
