E8 Storage Achieves Certification of Compliance with the NVMe-oF Industry Standard
E8 Storage, a pioneer in shared accelerated storage for data-intensive, high-performance applications, has certified E8 Storage Software is compliant with the NVMe-oF 1.0 specification. This certification further expands E8 Storage’s market reach to new customers relying on conformance to industry standards as part of their overall NVMe storage strategy. With this certification, E8 Storage continues to focus on software-defined storage which can be deployed on qualified NVMe enabled servers from leading vendors such as Western Digital, Dell, HP and Lenovo.
E8 Storage achieved the certification through participation in the NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) Plugfest at The University of New Hampshire’s InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), the leading testing and certification lab for NVMe technology and software, held from June 18-22, 2018, in Durham, New Hampshire. At the NVMe-oF Plugfest storage vendors from around the world come together to test against NVMe standards to qualify them for the NVMe-oF Integrator’s List. The NVMe-oF Integrators List currently consists of configurations that have proven to be interoperable and conformant to NVMe standards, such as the networking switches and initiators that E8 Storage has qualified from Mellanox, HPE and Cavium, Inc.
“Successful completion of such conformance tests when combined with satisfactory operation in UNH-IOL’s interoperability tests provides a reasonable level of confidence that the product under test will function properly in many NVMe environments,” said David Woolf, senior engineer, Datacenter Technologies, UNH-IOL. “Companies that participate in our events prove their commitment to driving innovation in the technology development cycle within a vendor neutral environment.”
“With the availability of an NVMe-oF certified product, E8 Storage partners now have the option to install E8 Storage Software on our line of high-performance storage servers, such as Ultrastar Serv24 and Ultrastar Serv24-HA,” said Dave Montgomery, director of Flash Platform Marketing at Western Digital. “With certified NVMe over Fabrics standard support, E8 Storage now delivers mission-critical capability in the NVMe storage space. We anticipate continued rapid adoption of this leading-edge technology combination.”
“E8 Storage has pioneered NVMe disaggregation for web scale customers to and is now proud to be one of the first and so far, the only certified NVMe-over-Fabrics solution in the market,” said Zivan Ori, Co-founder and CEO of E8 Storage. “All can now benefit from this industry accepted standard building on E8 Storage software’s ongoing conformance to standards, multi-vendor interoperability and support for a variety of hardware options.”
